Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long can I stay at a motorhome pitch?

That depends entirely on what your hosts envision. Some pitches can be booked indefinitely, while others are only available for a few nights. You'll find the exact details on the overview page for each pitch. Directly below the price, you'll see "Nights" – this indicates how long you can stay at the motorhome pitch.

  • How much does a campervan pitch cost per night?

The price for an overnight stay at a motorhome pitch is set by the respective hosts and varies depending on the amenities offered. Depending on the facilities, services, and location, the average price ranges between 20 and 30 Euros per night.

  • What's the difference between a motorhome pitch and a campsite?

Hinterland Camp sites are close to nature, personal, and unique. They are located on private properties – some on farms or vineyards, others directly by the sea, lakes, or in the mountains. Typically, there are only a few pitches per property, ensuring ample space to enjoy a peaceful time in nature. Many hosts even offer extras like saunas, hot tubs, or cozy seating areas amidst greenery. Facilities vary, but usually include toilets, fresh water, and showers.
In contrast, traditional campsites are often large, with small pitches packed closely together and standardized infrastructure such as central sanitary facilities, electricity hook-ups, or playgrounds. If you're looking for peace, proximity to nature, and a personal atmosphere, Hinterland Camp sites are the perfect choice.

  • Can I stay overnight in a caravan at a motorhome pitch?

The term "Wohnmobilstellplatz" (motorhome pitch) is often used to convey the camping character of a site – but it's not exclusively for motorhomes. You can find out whether you can stay overnight with a caravan, a large motorhome, a smaller campervan, a roof tent, or even a tent on a pitch on the overview page of the respective site. You can also filter your search specifically for pitches suitable for your vehicle or tent type.

  • How do you pay for a campervan pitch?

Payment is super easy via our website or app using Apple Pay, Google Pay, or credit card. Simply choose how many nights you'd like to spend at the motorhome pitch, whether you want to book any extras – such as firewood, workshops, or other experiences – and when you want to start your trip. Select your payment method, and off you go to Hinterland!

  • Who is allowed to stay at a motorhome pitch?

A motorhome pitch isn't just for motorhomes – many sites also welcome caravans, campervans, roof tents, or tents. You can find out if your vehicle or tent is allowed on a specific pitch on that pitch's overview page. You can also use the search function to filter for pitches suitable for your type of vehicle or tent.
