Unfortunately, you can't give more than five stars. ;) First, a little about us: We're a small group of young men in our mid-20s to early 30s. We go camping together regularly, and we enjoy doing so even during the colder months. We had a plot of land below Elisabeth’s farm, right next to two beautiful wild meadows. The plot is bordered by a stream on one side and a row of alder trees on the other. The stream is very clean and, even at the end of October, still warm enough to take a quick dip in. The most exciting thing about the stream, though, is the wildlife: beavers, raccoons, foxes, wild boars, and lots of fascinating birds. We were also lucky with the wildlife; even though we left food out once at night, there were no signs of it being eaten—but we did find exciting beaver and raccoon tracks by the stream. Above the campsite, next to the house, there’s a horse paddock and an open enclosure for geese. The whole area is very well designed; geese and horses can go down to the stream to cool off in the water, but they’re separated from the campground by a fence. Depending on the season, the forests and meadows offer an abundance of edible mushrooms: porcini, butter mushrooms, red-footed boletes, and field mushrooms. We were able to build fires day and night, and playing music wasn’t a problem either, since we were far enough away from other properties. The best thing about the place, however, is the hosts. Elisabeth organized a tour for us on her father’s tractor so we could explore the area a bit. There were also a few treats. Elisabeth’s homemade “Kochkäs” was a particular hit with us from southern Hesse. You can learn a lot about nature from Elisabeth’s father. He’s a warm-hearted older gentleman who’s happy to answer any questions. We were given a very warm welcome and even spent an evening around the campfire with our hosts.

There’s truly nothing missing, and you can tell right away how much passion and hospitality goes into this place. The place is beautifully situated in the middle of nature, with a lovely stream running through it. From there, we went on some lovely hikes through the woods🌳🌲 We were given a very warm welcome😊 Elisabeth and Steffen are very nice, friendly hosts😊
There was magic in the air. A heavenly week spent in nature with people who became friends. This week will remain unforgettable. A feeling that stays in my heart. Thank you for that.

After booking at the last minute the day before, we were given a very warm welcome by the whole family! The campsite was gorgeous, right by the river and wonderfully shaded. Unfortunately, we were only there for one night, but we really enjoyed our short stay. There was one other guest there, but thanks to the spacious grounds, it didn’t bother us at all. You access the site through a meadow; if it’s wet, a four-wheel-drive vehicle might be helpful.
I felt so good that I stayed on for two more days. If you don't need any frills, but just want a place in nature to unwind, this is the perfect spot for you.

It was a dream. We had the place all to ourselves. Beautifully situated by the stream. And, contrary to expectations, no swarms of mosquitoes. I highly recommend it. A warm welcome from the hosts was the perfect finishing touch. Thank you for making such a lovely little spot on earth available to us. 🤩
Elisabeth and Steffen were very nice and accommodating. The place is beautiful and in a quiet location. We were there on our motorcycles and had no trouble getting to the spot. We'd love to come back!

A wonderful little spot right in our neighborhood. We used it as a place to get away from it all and study for our upcoming exams. It doesn’t get any better than this. Pure nature. Peace and quiet, birdsong, and the stream to cool off in every now and then. We’ll definitely be back. Whenever we need a quick getaway 🤗 Elisabeth picked us up and guided us there. There was also a fire pit and fresh eggs from Elisabeth’s chickens....Perfect.....

It is precisely this hospitality that makes your campground so special. The peaceful atmosphere, the thoughtful design, and the wonderful surroundings made our stay a truly memorable experience. You can feel the effort and dedication you put into making everyone feel welcome everywhere you go. Thank you so much for your wonderful work and for creating such a special place. Communication was great both before and during our stay. We had everything we needed and really enjoyed our time there.
This is already my second stay with Elisabeth and Steffen—I had such a great time the first time! There are now three designated parking spots. The rear spot, number 3, is right next to a bend in the stream and is perfect for VW buses and similar vehicles. I especially recommend this spot for hot summer days because the spots are shaded and kids (and dogs) can go right down to the stream. In Hassenbach, there’s even a proper swimming spot on the Thulba, less than a 10-minute walk away.
A dreamy location by the stream, next to trout ponds and below a small paddock. A large, flat meadow area in partial shade beneath old deciduous and coniferous trees. Communication via cell phone was quick and easy. Access via a dirt road was completely hassle-free. Steffen picked me up at the meeting point and drove ahead to the site; Elisabeth stopped by in the afternoon with a bouquet of kitchen herbs as a welcome gift—so sweet! 10 minutes from the A7 highway; shopping, a gym, and a gas station in the neighboring village to the south, about 2.5 km away via a well-maintained walking/biking path. Many surrounding communities have campsites with water and waste disposal facilities. Great starting point for bike tours in the Rhön.
